Welcome to the NCEL Blog!
January 17, 2019
Welcome to NCEL’s first blog post! As Executive Director of NCEL, I’m excited to kickstart this series. Through these blogs, you can stay updated on emerging and national policy trends through the regular contribution of NCEL staff. Let us know if there is a specific topic that you would like to hear more about!
About the Blog Series
This regular blog will provide a rundown of national trends, emerging issues, and the policy ideas that are making their way through the halls of state capitols.
You will be able to read about everything from ocean legislation, the rise of offshore wind, environmental justice issues, and much more! These blogs will be written by NCEL staff with some guest appearances by state legislators. NCEL has also brought on a new Conservation Fellow to help grow and expand our work in this issue area. The fellow will be authoring biweekly blogs on conservation issues and trends from across the country.
Who We Are
As the staff of the National Caucus of Environmental Legislators, we feel honored and fortunate to serve and organize a network of over 1,200 state legislators nationwide who are committed to environmental protection, regardless of party or geography. As part of fulfilling our mission to empower legislators and provide a bridge to the larger advocacy community, we are proud to introduce this blog to highlight the most pressing environmental and conservation issues facing the states.
