Michael Bueno is the Legislative Coordinator for NCEL. Michael is a STEM enthusiast and has been engaged in a diverse portfolio of work in federal science, environmental, and energy policy. He served in the Obama Administration as Special Advisor to then Deputy Secretary of Energy Elizabeth Sherwood-Randall where he aided the team in advancing the important work of the agency.
Prior to joining the Department of Energy, Michael worked as a contractor in the Office of Research and Development at the U.S. EPA, working on an exhaustive state engagement effort for the agency’s hydraulic fracturing study and scientific research. He was a 2012-13 Public Policy Fellow of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute, splitting his time working at the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the U.S. House Science Committee.
Michael was born and raised in Mission, TX, at the southern tip of the state, and graduated from Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi with a B.S. in Environmental Science and Policy. He enjoys SciFi, wry comedy, and several cups of coffee a day.
