Two New Hampshire lawmakers have joined state legislators from nine states in the formation of the Carbon Costs Coalition, a group focused on reducing carbon emissions. Democratic state senators Martha Fuller Clark of Portsmouth and David Watters of Dover recently announced their support for the coalition and urged their colleagues in the New Hampshire Legislature to do likewise. They also urged support for House Bill 1230, which establishes a commission to study the economic impact of a national carbon pricing program on New Hampshire. Other states represented in the coalition include Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont and Washington.
